CURRENTCY

The currency used in Indonesia is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Kindly use the authorized money changers. There are various places to exchange your foreign currency to Rupiah. You may find Money Changers alongside the departure hall of Terminal 2D to 2F.

TRANSPORTATION

In order to travel individually in the city, the general details of the safest transportation method and important information are mentioned below.

Please take taxi from the airport to the hotel as this is the easiest, most dependable and efficient method of transport. Taxis are available just outside the departure hall. We strongly recommend you to use BLUE BIRD Taxi; only if none are available do we recommend PUSAKA Taxi, EXPRESS Taxi and/or GAMYA Taxi.

Note: Other Taxis are known to charge without a meter, some drivers may be offensive and exploit foreigners.

The distance between airport to Depok City is around 46 km. You will need approximately one hour to get there. During rush hours (07.00 to 09.00 and 16.30 to 19.00), it may take up to 2 hours to get to Depok City.

Note: The taxi ride will cost around IDR 180.000 to IDR 250.000 or USD 13 to USD 18 (excluded toll fee and airport surcharge). The cost may vary according to the traffic.

You can also take limo bus or airport bus from the airport to Depok. The bus station is located about 300 meter from the international arrival. The bus to Depok is available every one hour, but it can be longer during the day time due to traffic. The bus fare is IDR 60,000.

HOTEL BUMI WIYATA

Hotel Bumi Wiyata is one of the nearest accommodation to the campus. The distance between Universitas Indonesia to hotel is about 3-4 km. and will only need approximately 10 minutes to travel by car.

HOTEL SANTIKA DEPOK

Hotel Santika Depok is another pleasant and convenient hotel nearby University of Indonesia. The distance is 5-6 km from University of Indonesia. It only needs approximately 15 minutes to reach the hotel by car. The hotel is on the back side of Depok Mall.

WISMA MAKARA

Wisma Makara is the nearest hotel to the venue since it is located within University of Indonesia area. The distance is around 1.3 km to the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia. You will only need 10 minutes by UI shuttle bus (Bis Kuning) to the conference venue.

You should apply for a visa in person at your nearest Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in your country, although it’s possible to obtain Indonesian visas in other countries while you’re on extended trip. To apply for a visa, you must complete the application form, which can be downloaded from many consular websites. Before you plan your visit, you should find out if you need a visa to enter Indonesia. Regulations vary from country to country, and often times, from year to year.

Indonesia also have Visa on Arrival (VOA) to Indonesia. In accordance with the Regulation of Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia No. M. HH-01.GR-01.06 year dated 12 January 2010 , citizens from 62 countries and 1 region are eligible for applying a VOA. This visa can be obtained directly when you arrive at certain airports and seaports in Indonesia, regardless of the purpose of your visit (Business, Tourist, Social-Cultural).

Visa on Arrival is neither a work visa nor a visit visa. Therefore, it can not be extended or converted into another immigration permit. The maximum stay permitted is thirty (30) days and could be extended (one time) for a maximum thirty (30) days  The general requirements for visa on arrival are:

  • The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
  • Round-trip airplane ticket, with fees up to 7 days US$ 10  and up to 30 days: US$ 25.
